Your Powwow Week Warm-Up (Nov 15–19)
November in Round Rock is brimming with events that celebrate the rich tapestry of our community's culture and traditions.
As we approach the much-anticipated Austin Powwow on November 22, immerse yourself in the spirit of the season with these engaging activities.
Saturday, November 15 – Art of Turtle Island: North American Indigenous Art (Austin) Free online art event. Join us to explore the world of North American Indigenous art: pottery, basket weaving. Paint, draw, collage!Kick off Powwow Week by stepping into the world of Native art. Art of Turtle Island highlights Indigenous creators through contemporary works, mixed media, and traditional influences. This one sets the cultural tone beautifully before the big celebration.
Saturday–Sunday, November 15–16 – Austin Studio Tour: Weekend 2 (Austin) If you love art that tells a story, the Austin Studio Tour is your playground. Wander through studios, meet makers, discover Native and non-Native artists alike, and soak in the community energy. It’s the perfect “hands-on” warm-up to Powwow Week.
Monday, November 17 – Remaining Native at Austin Community College (Eastview Campus) Location: ACC Eastview Campus, Room 8500, 3401 Webberville Rd, Austin, TX Start your week with a thoughtful gathering centered on Native identity, community, and cultural presence. Remaining Native is part conversation, part education, and fully aligned with the spirit leading into Powwow Week.
Wednesday, November 19 – Sew Indigenous Workshop Join the fun community craft nights every Wednesday. We have basic supplies to share. 🪶 For a ribbon skirt — bring 2 yards of pre-washed cotton fabric of your choice. We have the ribbon.
We have a Silouette cameo cutter machine, HTV vinyl and a heat press.

Sticking around the area? Round Rock Events: Additionally, don't miss the Lakeview Kickoff: A Stone in the Park on Saturday, November 15, at 6:30 p.m. at Old Settlers Park.
This grand opening of the new Lakeview Pavilion & Stage features a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a performance by acclaimed artist Allen Stone, and a spectacular fireworks display to conclude the evening.
Vendors will be onsite with food and beverages available for purchase.
