Local artists and venues rally to support Central Texas flood victims through a series of benefit events |
In the wake of the devastating July 4 floods that swept through Central Texas, Austin's vibrant music community has come together to aid in recovery efforts.
One standout event is the 'CenTex Strong' Flood Relief Benefit Concert, scheduled for August 1 at Come and Take It Live.
This all-ages concert will feature performances by Foo Shot (a Foo Fighters tribute band), Dream Stereo, Firecracker Smile, and Bicycle Boy.
All profits from the event will be directed towards providing emergency relief supplies, supporting rebuilding efforts, and offering free mental health resources to flood survivors.
Attendees have the option to add an extra donation to their ticket purchase, further contributing to the cause.
Tickets are available through the venue's official ticketing platform.
In addition to 'CenTex Strong', several other benefit concerts are planned throughout Austin.
On August 2, the 'Flood Relief Show' at Mohawk will feature local bands such as DAIISTAR, Font, Club Coma, Sexpop, lluvii, and Alma Muñeca.
Proceeds from this outdoor, all-ages concert will support the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.
Food will be available on-site, enhancing the community atmosphere.
For those interested in a diverse musical lineup, the 'After the Flood' Benefit Concert on August 3 at Kick Butt Coffee offers a day of punk and metal performances.
Acts include Charlie Dog, Society’s Joke, Worm Suicide, Brass Knuckle Monkey, Mega Negative, Vaydra, Old Phukkers, and Fingerjane.
The event will also feature a raffle with goods from local businesses, with all proceeds going towards flood relief.
Looking ahead, the 'Song in the Storm' Benefit Concert on August 12 at the Paramount Theatre will showcase Texas country music legends Lyle Lovett and Michael Martin Murphey, joined by special guests Andy Hedges and Jimmie Vaughan.
Proceeds from this event will support the Central Texas Flood Recovery Fund.
These concerts exemplify the resilience and generosity of the Austin music community, uniting to support neighbors in need.
By attending these events, Austinites can enjoy live music while contributing to vital recovery efforts.
